OUR MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS!

SINCE 2012 WE HAVE ACCOMPLISHED MUCH BECAUSE OF OUR FRIENDS AND SUPPORTERS! HERE IS SOME OF OUR PROUD MOMENTS.

MICHIANA FIVE’ HELPED TO BRING TO NAPPANEE, INDIANA IT’S FIRST FREE COMMUNITY MEALS PROGRAM ON JANUARY 9TH 2014  SERVING OVER 100+ PEOPLE TWICE A WEEK FROM 5-6PM ON MONDAYS AND THURSDAYS EVERY WEEK. STILL ACTIVELY SERVING!

MICHIANA FIVE DEVELOPED AWARENESS OF TEEN HOMELESSNESS IN ELKHART COUNTY AND LAUNCHED PUBLIC MEETINGS IN JULY 2015 TO BRING AWARENESS FOR THE NEED OF IT’S FIRST HOMELESS YOUTH SHELTER WHICH OPENED IN APRIL OF 2016  SERVING ANY HOMELESS TEENS OR RUNAWAYS TO HAVE A SAFE PLACE FOR YEARS TO COME!

MICHIANA FIVE’ ASSISTED MAYOR OF ELKHART TIM NEESE IS THE SUCCESSFUL CLOSING OF A ILLEGAL TENT CITY  IN ELKHART OF OVER 20+ HOMELESS IN AUGUST 2016 WITH EACH PERSON FINDING HOUSING BY THEIR LAST DAY BEFORE EVICTION.

MICHIANA FIVE’ IN SEPTEMBER 2016 HELPED ESTABLISHED A TENT CITY IN DOWNTOWN SOUTH BEND UNDER THE MAIN STREET BRIDGE TO BRING AWARENESS TO THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY THAT INDEED THERE WAS A HOMELESS PROBLEM.  OVER 30 TENTS LINED BOTH SIDES OF THE BRIDGE. THE RESULT WAS TOTAL COMMUNITY AWARENESS, LOCAL AND REGIONAL NEWS STORIES AND THE BEGINNING OF DIFFERENT WORKING GROUPS TO END HOMELESSNESS WITHIN THE CITY.

In April of 2017 we launched the MOTHER GOOSE PROGRAM to assist any Mothers with a package of Diapers and baby wipes to aid the budget against the high cost of diapers for struggling Mothers and families. This has helped many mothers on a daily basis to come receive diapers and wipes.

In July 2017 we attended a sub committee to the Mayors working group to end homelessness in South Bend.

In July 2017 We had a booth at the St. Joseph county 4-H Fair for 9 days our first booth at a local Fair.

In July 2017 we received our first major Grant totaling $15,000.00! for our Security deposit program for the homeless.
